Chicago trip

Chicago my art city!

I'm from Louisiana, so it is a big deal for me to travel in a subway.
For those who don't know there is a subway connected to the O'Hare Chicago airport. The best part is to experience art right away! I didn't see it until I was on my way back to depart. It is a rainbow that lights up and you can glide through on the autowalk.
It is located between United Concourse B and C.
It is known as a neon walkway created by Michael Hayden.

  • The Art Institue of Chicago- this museum is a beauty. You can check in your bag. It is massive and has some of the best artists.

  • Millenium Park this is the place with the cloud also known as the bean. There is a ice skating rink during the winter. Also some cool water spitting art.

  • Christmas Kindlemarket- I was so impressed with this christmas market. I didn't think I was going to be able to find it. There was some good potato cakes with applesauce and delicious hot cider. There was some detailed wooden mager art they were selling as ornaments.

  • Pizza - I like all pizza. I don't care if it is thin or deep pizza. You say pizza, and I'm all for it. I looked up all the best pizza places. I should of picked a pizza that had the recommended toppings, but instead I chose my own toppings. It was still delicious, but I was lost in the city. I literally walked to the lake instead towards the millenium park.I love the Giordano's pizza.

  • Lincoln Zoo - It's free and they have zoo lights for christmas. There's also a ice craving contest. Unfortunately I didn't see the japanese monkeys known as the SNOW monkeys! Their area was being clean so it was closed. I did see a polar bear, and he was napping. This zoo has some animals that you can't find at the Audubon Zoo. There is a cat section with a snow leopard. The plants are lovely in Chicago and I have no idea what they're called but they look like fuschia berries.

  • Xoco - my kinda of food is Mexican. They serve breakfast too. I had my first champurrado. Champurrado is a thick hot chocolate. It was so rich and it is perfect to warm you on a cold day. They have fancy dipped churros too. 449 N Clark St

  • Macy's - There's a restaurant in this Macy's with a huge christmas tree. The walnut room- opened in 1905. 111 North State Street

OREGON 2023

OREGON  SILVER FALLS, WOODBURN, & PACIFIC COAST I never hiked and I loved it at Silver Falls. The trails are nice and there are steps all around the amazing waterfalls. I went with the best crew of wanderlusters Naz and Kelly! They are expert hikers and they prepped me just in time for GNP. Go see Oregon in Spring! Advise: Pack for wet and cold weather. Book a place near the park. If you don't know how to drive in the county roads at night then plan ahead and drive in the daylight. Go rafting you'll be the first in the season. I recommend eNRG Kayaking at Mill City, OR. Eat the dungeness crabs in Ecola. I love the beach trail in Ecola. Eat the pizza at Cannon beach. Bring binoculars to see the puffins or look for the red truck early in the morning. Watch the waves don't pull you into the cold pacific ocean.

GNP

Glacier National Park A picture on pinterest gave me the desire to see the colorful pebbles at Lake McDonald in GNP.  It was cloudy and about to rain when I arrived, but I still saw them and the trip was worth it.  I realized that some parks should only be treasured from afar. The park belongs to the wildlife aka GRIZZLY BEARS. The views look unreal and the best way to drive through is with a truck.  I planned a trip to GNP in 2022, but had to reschedule to 2023 due to my friend not being able to go. Thank God I did, because I had no idea how wild and big GNP is in entity. I glamped and still would probably be creeped out to do it alone. I did not do all the hikes and not even the hardest one, but I saw all the views. I may go back one day to see Many Glaciers if it still exists, but honestly it really should be shut down for the wilderness life.              What to know:  All National Parks require permits to go to the p...

Los Angeles '22

I'm in love with the city of angels, L.A.! I have a feeling I will be living there one day. It was by far the best trip I've been to in 2022. Sunshine, diverse communities, beautiful beach, cool breezy weather, and good food. Dua Lipa's concert is what brought me to L.A. and it was as expected awesome. I went to hermosa beach, mariachi plaza, china town, Japan town, Hollywood, the Grove, and the Grand central. Y'all hermosa beach is not as crowded and there was some actors enjoying the sun nearby. It is such a chill area and I found a purple sand-dollar.  Mariachi plaza was lonely but I can only imagine on festive days. Love la Monarca bakery, they have good coffee and bread what else can you ask for if you are seeking good Mexican goodies. China town was not what I expected and I regret not trying the dim sum at a place that had a long line like we do during king cake season. The area was spread out and seemed very modern. I can only imagine what it used to look like. ...
