I'm in love with the city of angels, L.A.!
I have a feeling I will be living there one day. It was by far the best trip I've been to in 2022. Sunshine, diverse communities, beautiful beach, cool breezy weather, and good food. Dua Lipa's concert is what brought me to L.A. and it was as expected awesome.
I went to hermosa beach, mariachi plaza, china town, Japan town, Hollywood, the Grove, and the Grand central.
Y'all hermosa beach is not as crowded and there was some actors enjoying the sun nearby. It is such a chill area and I found a purple sand-dollar.
Mariachi plaza was lonely but I can only imagine on festive days. Love la Monarca bakery, they have good coffee and bread what else can you ask for if you are seeking good Mexican goodies.
China town was not what I expected and I regret not trying the dim sum at a place that had a long line like we do during king cake season. The area was spread out and seemed very modern. I can only imagine what it used to look like.
Japan town was breathtaking. I was so psyched when I saw a Sanrio store. It was not what I expected like my childhood mall store, but it was still neat. Some areas were lonely like a underground anime store area.
Hollywood is breathtaking like the beach, and if I could afford the clothes I would go on a shopping spree. Next time I will enter a store. They had guards at every storefront so I was a bit intimidated to enter to window shop. So I literary window shopped and saw the beautiful displays. Gucci had a silver dress mannequin that was so glamorous. Regret- I did not park on a side street instead I parked valet at some plastic surgeon garage. It is cheaper on the street duh.
The Sunset Grove is a famous farmer market that became a mall yet kept it's hidden gem market. It is by far the most interesting outdoor food place ever that has so much courtyard seating. Parking is available and I highly recommend you go here!
Lastly, the Grand Central market is old and amazing. So many local food places to try. You could go daily and never be disappointed whether breakfast or lunch. I had the Thai place called Sticky rice. It was so spicy and flavorful perfect prior airplane food for me.They have parking too. Go here and then checkout the rest of downtown L.A. whether china town or Japan town. Be ready to walk.
Things I regret- not renting a scooter downtown. Not sitting more and enjoying my food, like my birria quesadilla and my pad Thai. Pro- I walked a lot and saw a lot more than expected and appeared to be a local. I was asked which way is the apple store.
Check out some of my pics:
Santa Monica had the cutest area of retired folks residing by the beach and walking in the park with their dogs.
